Mise en scene is all of the elements that come together to make the vision of the creator of the media come to life. Mise en scene is used to help create emotions and help give meaning to scenes and can sometimes leave secret meanings in some scenes in some films.
There are many different kinds of examples of Mise en scene in movies like:
Lighting: Lighting is used to help give characters more meaning. An example of this would be backlighting to make characters more ominous or threatening or add mystery towards a certain characters.
This picture shows a good example of how back lighting can create mystery or have an ominous feel to the character as well as making him seem more secretive.
Costuming: Costuming of the characters can mean many different things as well as making the characters feel more relatable and seem more fitting for their role.
These two images show how Star Wars uses different costumes to create meaning in there movies using Anakin Skywalkers costume at the beginning with his costume being brighter because of he is on the good side but as he turns towards the dark side his costume becomes darker and more sinister.
Set design: Set design is all the different elements used to help create the set and the scene and making it more meaningful to the viewer.

Props: props are used many times to help give context to the scene or help to help the characters complete a certain action
The movie gladiator 2 uses many props like this sword in his hand. The props in this movie are things like swords or shields as well as other weapons. They are used in many scenes making them more intense and give them more meaning.
