Blog #7 Preliminary Exercise

The preliminary exercise made us take pictures on our own representing different kinds of camera shots that we may use in our final project. I took 4 different pictures using my friends as examples to help show the different camera shots that i will probably use

The first shot is a low angle shot this shot is used to help make things seem bigger and more threatening a lot of the time or can also be used as a transition to help go from scene to scene

The picture i used shows the character on the screen towering over the camera in some kind of heroic pose. This camera technique makes it seem as if the character is a very powerful hero who is going to save the day.

The second shot is a close up of the character. A close up is a shot where the camera is zoomed in very close to the character. Most of the time this technique is used to help create more emotion as well as showing the emotion of the character on the screen.

This shot show the characters emotion up close and helps make the the scene more impactful. The close up shows the shock of the character on the screen but not what they are shocked at making the scene more suspenseful and making the viewer be on the edge of their seat.

The next shot is an over the shoulder shot which is used to show the focus of one character on another. This shot is used a lot of the time in deep conversations between two characters showing the conversation of both of the characters

This image that a took is an over the shoulder shot showing how one of the characters is trying to make a funny face to make the other person laugh, The shot gives context to try and help the viewer better understand the scene. It also adds a sense of humor that could make the viewer relate to the scene.

The last shot I took was a high angle shot. A high angle shot is a camera shot that is used to help make a character seem lees powerful or weak in a scene. This is commonly used as a shot from one large character to a smaller one showing the difference in power of the 2

The shot I used is of a character who seems smaller and less powerful do to the way the camera is angles to help create a better understanding of the scene. The character is shown with a thinking face on showing how his weaker more pathetic stature has no possibility of defeating a stronger foe without the use of his brain.
